Summary

WJEC Eduqas Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Component 1: Principles of Food Preparation and Nutrition this is a written examination and accounts for 50% of the qualification.

Component 2: This is a non-examination assessment that is internally assessed. The Food investigation assessment accounts for 15% of the qualification and the food preparation assessment accounts for 35% of the qualification 

Summary: Year 10 focuses upon developing the student’s practical skills and increasing knowledge and understanding of the principles of Food Preparation and Nutrition. The skills developed will support the students in the exam board NEAs which are released in the Autumn and Spring terms of Year 11.

Summary: The scientific food investigation is released by the examination board in the Autumn term. This accounts for 15% of the qualification. The food preparation assessment is released by the examination board in the January of year 11. This accounts for 35% of the qualification.
